» SABLE: SECOND CHANCE TO LIVE DREAM
Sable: Second Chance To Live Dream
by Phil Speer
April 4, 2003
Many WWE fans assumed they'd never again see Sable, who was last part of WWE in
1999. But she made a shocking return on Thursday's episode of SmackDown!,
proving once and for all the two oft-heard cliches: "anything can happen in
WWE" and "never say never in this business." A few hours before the SmackDown!
taping in Spokane, Wash., WWE.com had the opportunity to sit down with the
former Women's Champion and Playboy cover girl.
WWE.com: How does it feel being here?
Sable: It feels wonderful. Everyone has been so kind since I returned, and it's
just an opportunity for me to have a second chance at doing something that I
really love.
WWE.com: What about being backstage for the first time in four years?
Sable: Well, I have to say I was very nervous to come back and walk through the
doors for the first time. But everyone has been nothing but kind and has made
me feel very welcome. I'm very excited to be back.
WWE.com: So you were a little nervous coming here?
Sable: Yeah. I think anyone in my position, after a four-year hiatus, would be
a little nervous. But, like I said, so far everything has gone very well.
WWE.com: Are you anticipating any tension or negative feelings backstage?
Sable: I hate to anticipate anything. I came here to do my job. I came here to
prove myself once again. I know it's going to take time for me to fit in and
maybe be trusted, or whatever the case may be. I'm very dedicated and committed
to making this work. The only thing I can do is be myself, and hopefully
that'll be good.
WWE.com: Do you know at this point how long you're here for?
Sable: Well, I have signed a long-term contract, so I'm hoping to be around for
a while.
WWE.com: Do you anticipate that you'll be wrestling at all?
Sable: I have no expectations at this point. I'm not exactly sure what my
position in the company will be. I'm just going to take one day at a time, and
enjoy every minute of it. Not many people get a second chance, and I do, so I'm
just going to enjoy it.
WWE.com: How did this second chance come about?
Sable: I had a meeting with Vince (McMahon) and Jim Ross, and at that time we
decided to put the past behind us and move forward. We don't want to discuss
anything that happened in the past, or anything negative. Everything's very
positive at this point, and I'd like to keep it that way.
WWE.com: What's your relationship like with Vince and J.R.?
